Marketplace Fitness Guidelines 8/27

We are still in phase 1 of re-opening, we ask for your patience, kindness, and cooperation as we work through these new policies handed down from Governor Scott. There has been a lot for us to figure out in a short amount of time. Please keep in mind that these changes are temporary and fluid and will be adjusted as restrictions are lifted. The health and safety of our members is always our top priority. 

Reservations information

Please reserve your workout time online at marketplacefitness.com. No walk ins will be allowed.
At this time, we are offering 45-minute workout blocks that will start on the hour. This will give us an opportunity to clean in between groups of members. Timeliness is very important. To make it fair for all members we ask that you only sign up for one block per day. 

During this phase we will also be abbreviating our hours. 7am-6pm Monday- Friday. Weekends 8am-1pm.

Social distancing

Please stay 6 feet apart. We are following strict social distancing in the gym and ask that you adhere to the designated signs and markers. During Phase 1 we are only allowed to run at 25% capacity. This means only seven people in the Weight Room at one time, seven people in the Cardio Room, and four people in the Group Fitness Studio. To help maximize space, we have converted the Group Fitness Studio into a smaller weight room with lighter weights. (2-50lbs), and benches. Keep this in mind when you make a reservation.

Masks

Masks must be worn at all times. The only time it may be removed is when you are engaged in strenuous exercise. In which case pull your mask down, catch your breath, and put mask back on over your nose and mouth.

We understand that they can be very difficult to wear while working out, but they do minimize the risk for everyone, and it is only temporary

Cleaning

We will be following all cleaning guidelines set by the CDC and state authorities. We have increased cleaning on all touch surfaces in the facility but will need members to do their part. You will be responsible for wiping down everything before and after use.

Prescreening

For members protection we are required to perform pre-screening checks for all our staff and members. This will consist of a questionnaire and possible temperature check. If you are experiencing symptoms or not feeling well, please stay at home. 

Limited facilities

Please come dressed and ready to work out as locker room use is limited. To adhere to social distancing and 25% capacity guidelines, only 3 people will be allowed in the locker rooms at one time, always staying 6 feet apart. We will be offering shower use to those who need it.If possible, please continue to shower and/or change at home to leave the showers for those who cannot.Please shower and change as fast as possible. This means applying make-up or performing other after shower activities elsewhere.Members will be responsible for sanitizing the shower stall after use with provided sanitizing spray. Locker rental and day locker usage are available, but we are limiting use to only those who need them. Saunas are not currently available. Please remember to bring a water bottle as the bottle filling station will be available, but the water fountain will be turned off. 

Group fitness classes

Due to capacity limitations we will not be offering classes in the studio.  We are excited to be offering outdoor classes (such as bootcamp, yoga, cardio, and circuit) at Battery Park and live classes on Zoom. You can make a reservation for classes online at marketplacefitness.com.

Membership Billing  information

EFT Memberships: For those members who have reoccurring billing – you will not be billed during the month of June 2020. This will account for the remainder of March that we were temporarily closed and you were unable to use the facility. Your billing will resume automatically on July 10th, at your regular rate.

PIF Memberships: If you have an active pre-paid account for your membership, you will have time added onto your membership automatically. If you had three months or more remaining on your membership as of the date of our closure on March 16, 2020, you will have three months of added time. If you had less than three months remaining on your membership, you will have the amount of time you had remaining added to your membership.

We are trying to minimize cash payments, so we ask that you use our website, and online membership sign up portal to renew memberships. This will cut down on in person interactions, as well as allow for people to make maximum use of their reserved time.

Guest Passes/Day Passes 

We will not be issuing day passes or guest passes at this time.

Please assess your risk

By choosing to come to Marketplace Fitness you acknowledge and except the additional risk associated with COVID-19. If you or someone close to you is at higher risk, please consider rejoining us later.

Please remember to bring your water bottle and your own sweat towel and come dressed to work out. Timeliness is very important. We ask that you arrive on time and leave promptly when your 45 minutes has ended. This allows us to do the required cleaning in between reservations.
